Aloe Vera |
| |
|
Aloe Vera is a wonderful detoxifier. Its anti-cancer value has been demonstrated in study after study. It is also an immunomodulator, meaning it will balance your immune system. I recently ran into an individual who was having colon polyps removed every visit to his proctologist. He began a regimen of 8oz of Aloe vera daily, and on his next trip to the proctologist, they found no polyps.
There are many Aloe Vera products on the market, and the FDA hasn't helped much by allowing companies to claim 100% Aloe Vera juice if they add only one tablespoon of 100% Aloe Vera juice to a gallon of water. Additionally, companies can claim their product to be cold processed if they use HTST (High Temperature Short Time) processing. It took us years of research to find R PUR Aloe 18X Concentrate (whole leaf, cold processed, and powerful stuff, yet good tasting―four ounces a day is recommended).
In an article by Dr Bruce Eric Hedendal, D.C., Ph.D. he points out the effects of orally consumed Aloe Vera juice: "Urinary indican values decreased, indicating lowered bowel bacterial conversion of tryptophan and possible improved protein digestion and absorption, as well as reduced bowel putrefaction. This change, by itself, could help prevent colon cancer."
And finally, Dr. H. R. McDaniel, M.D., pathologist and researcher at the Dallas-Fort Worth Medical Center, has said, "The use of Aloe Vera will be the most important single step forward in the treatment of diseases in the history of mankind."

Anticoagulants - (Prevent Metastases) - Herbs |
| |
|
In a study of 300 breast cancer patients on anticoagulants [first reported to us inAlternatives], one eighth of them died from breast cancer, but not one developed metastases. Anticoagulants stop fibrin from forming. Fibrin (a natural substance needed for blood to clot) has a pretty significant role in the development of metastases: it coats maverick cells in the blood stream, and thus protects them from the immune system, and it gives off a signal to start angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels (which a metastasis would need in order to root and grow).

Artemisinin - Wormwood Herb Extract |
| |
|
The Journal of Life Science (70 (2001): 49-56) reported on a study out of the University of Washington, conducted by Drs Narenda Singh and Henry Lai. So far, this is the most extensive study done in the US on artemisinin.
The study was conducted in a laboratory in tissue samples (in vitro) as opposed to a study on animals or humans (in vivo). Using a radiation resistant variety of breast cancer cells (that also had a high propensity for accumulating iron) artemisinin proved itself to have a 75% cancer kill rate after just 8 hours; and almost a 100% kill rate in just 24 hours.
According to Dr Lam, MD (http://www.drlam.com/A3R_brief_in_doc_format/Artemisinin.cfm):
Artemisinin is effective against a wide variety of cancers as shown in a series of successful experiments. The most effective is leukemia and colon cancer. Intermediate activities were also shown against melanoma, breast, ovarian, prostate, CNS and renal cancer. Although artemisinin is insoluble in water, it is able to cross the blood brain barrier (the water soluble artesunate is the weakness among the derivates) and may be particularly suitable for curing brain tumors, together with Poly-MVA.
According to Dr Rowen, MD in his newsletter Second Opinion, a family of physicians in Vietnam had used artemisinin to treat cancer for years. For over 400 patients treated in the past ten years, using dietary and lifestyle changes and artemisinin, they realized a 50 to 60 percent long-term remission rate. Artemisinin has proven itself to be nontoxic at the required dosage level for long periods of time; and that no significant toxicity in short-term use for malaria at high dose of up to 70 mg/kg per day has been reported either.

Beetroot - Chemicals Released by the Beet Vegetable Help Boost Athletes' Performance |
| |
|
The purple root vegetable contains high levels of chemicals called nitrates, which have been shown to boost exercise performance.
The findings support earlier research, published in 2009, by British scientists which suggested drinking beetroot juice could have a powerful effect on stamina and endurance, as well as lower blood pressure.
When tasked with cycling at an easy pace, the men used less oxygen after drinking beetroot, suggesting their muscles were able to do the same amount of work while spending less energy.

Carnivora Extract - Venus Flytrap - Immune Boosting Aids, Cancer, HIV Treatment - Germany |
 |
|
In Germany, a pharmaceutical extract of Venus’ Flytrap called Carnivora is used in the treatment of chronic diseases, including most forms of cancer, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, all types of herpes infections, chronic arthritis, and almost any immune deficiency state, including AIDS. Carnivora is dispensed orally, by inhalation, or by injection. However, individuals cannot legally import Carnivora to the U.S. without first proving that they suffer from a life-threatening disease. Fortunately, fresh Venus’ Flytrap extract can be both purchased and used legally in the United States, though few people are aware of its uses.
In cases of cancer, Venus’ Flytrap is reported to work therapeutically to shrink solid tumors, and in fact works for any type of cancer except for blood abnormalities, such as leukemia. It is also noted to work best if the patient has not previously undergone chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
The discoverer of this herb’s usefulness is researcher and oncologist, Helmut Keller, M.D. Keller began studying Venus’ Flytrap at Boston University in 1980, but moved to Germany a year later to find more freedom for his research.
One of his patients interviewed in 1991 was 65-year-old Betty Williams of Ames, Iowa. Diagnosed with inflammatory breast disease, the most lethal form of breast cancer, she went to Dr. Keller for treatment. Her case study revealed that the skin of her right breast was at first swollen, warm, hardened, and painful, and finally turned black. Diagnosis by biopsy revealed that it was inflammatory carcinoma. Doctors gave her no chance for survival, and predicted death within a few weeks. The oncologists said that they would try chemotherapy, then radiation, and finally surgery to buy her a little more time. When she learned of Dr. Keller, she decided to try his Carnivora treatment. She received one three-hour intravenous injection a day. She experienced no side effects, and eventually recovered completely.
According to Morton Walker of The Herb Quarterly, one of Venus’ Flytrap’s faithful users is President Ronald Reagan. Walker reported that following the removal of malignant polyps from his colon, President Reagan sent to Nordhalben, Germany for an herbal extract of the Venus’ Flytrap to take as a preventative against the spread of cancer. Thereafter, he drank thirty drops of the extract in a glass of water or tea four times a day. As of 1995, the former president was still taking the Venus’ Flytrap extract.
In addition to its success with cancer, Venus’ Flytrap extract has had a dramatic effect on patients infected with the HIV virus. Dr. Keller learned that various strengths of the Carnivora formulations work for all diseases in which immune stimulation and modulation are required. Carnivora increases the number and activity of the sick person’s T-helper cells and other immune system components. Laboratory test readings recorded by Dr. Keller on HIV- positive patients show the patients T-helper cell counts rose from as low as 11 per cubic millimeter of blood to well beyond 700, while the T-suppressor cells decreased sharply. This makes the individual’s important helper/ suppressor ratio almost normal.
The most surprising result has been Venus’ Flytrap’s direct effect in reducing the viability of HIV. An identified biochemical ingredient in Venus’ Flytrap actually kills the AIDS virus. The Beta-2 Microglobulin test, which measures the amounts of plasma proteins produced by HIV, also decreases. This test for Beta-2 levels indicates that the patient is not advancing to full-blown AIDS.
Given the research conducted on these remarkable plants, the conclusion can be drawn that Venus’ Flytrap and Cat’s Claw both have tremendous potential as a preventative and as a treatment for many of today’s serious health concerns. Taken together, they enhance each other for ultimate benefit.
Since Venus’ Flytrap has not yet gained popularity in the United States, it can be hard to find if you don’t know where to look. The only known company manufacturing the extract in the U.S. is Native Essence Herb Company. This company offers each herb individually as a potent extract, or also as a combination of the two. The concentrated liquid herbal solution of Venus’ Flytrap and Cat’s Claw mixed together called Venus’ Flytrap/Cat’s Claw 50/50. Native Essence’s Herbal Solutions™ products are uniquely prepared in the traditional Native American manner, using only the finest freshly-grown herbs, which are always organically grown or ecologically wildcrafted.
Although people are generally less familiar with taking liquid herbal supplements than capsules, liquid supplements are almost universally recognized to be superior. Liquid herbal extracts and tinctures offer better absorption by the body over capsules and tablets. With any capsule or tablet, the body has to break it down to some degree before it can be assimilated, whereas liquid supplements are quickly absorbed and used by the body. Liquid formulas can be easily added to any beverage. |

Carnivora Extract - Venus Flytrap - Immune Boosting Aids, Cancer, HIV Treatment |
 |
|
At the Wellness Directory of Minnesota, we hate to give false hope to anyone, however, we must tell you that, according to Morton Walker, DPM, in an article entitled, "The Carnivora Cure for Cancer, AIDS and Other Pathologies" published in Immune Perspectives, Summer 1994: "[The Carnivora extract] is highly effective for the total elimination of the HIV virus in vivo from human blood and may be considered a cure for the autoimmune deficiency syndrome AIDS."
In 1988, the active component of Carnivora, plumbagin, was isolated.
It has proven itself to be, in vivo and in vitro (in live subjects and in the laboratory), a powerful immuno-stimulant. Since 1981, over 2000 patients have been treated with Carnivora, including President Reagan. (Follow physicians and the rich when they get cancer; they usually avoid, at all costs, chemotherapy.)
Studies have shown it to reduce tumor weight with no side effects, and in some cases there have been complete remission. Carnivora is non-toxic and non-mutagenic (does not cause cellular mutations).
One patient who used Carnivora extract was Ronald Asti, a person with AIDS who was suffering from ARC (AIDS-related complex). He travelled to Germany for treatment, and returned four months later, completely free of AIDS, his blood showing no signs of the HIV-1 antigen after multiple tests.
A commercial Carnivora product is manufactured by the Carnivora Research Company and, thus far, can be still be purchased for shipment to the US. However, Dr Helmut Keller of Bad Steben, Germany, states that he would prefer to induce treatment himself, and then discharge the patient back to her/his physician with an optimal schedule for treatment.

Cats Claw - Nature’s Little-known Remedies for Chronic Disease - By Angela Garabo |
 |
|
Cat’s Claw is another incredible herb that can be mixed with the Venus’ Flytrap extract for utmost results. It has also been used successfully in other countries to treat AIDS and cancer among other diseases. Cat’s Claw is an herb from Peru known there as Uncaria tomentosa, commonly called Uña de Gato in Spanish and “Cat’s Claw” in English. This wonder herb, according to Indian folklore, has been used to cure tumors and other serious diseases.
Beginning in the 1970’s and continuing through today, studies conducted at research facilities in Peru, Austria, Germany, England, Hungary, and Italy suggest that Uncaria tomentosa (Cat’s Claw) may be beneficial in the treatment of cancer, arthritis, bursitis, rheumatism, genital herpes and herpes zoster, allergies, ulcers, systematic candidiasis, diabetes, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, PMS, and irregularities of the female cycle, environmental toxic poisoning, numerous bowel and intestinal disorders, organic depression, and those infected with the HIV virus.
Cat’s Claw seems to have the ability to break through severe intestinal disorders that no other available products can touch. Its amazing healing ability and benefit to the immune system appears to have so many therapeutic applications that it far surpasses such well-known herbs as golden seal, echinacea, pau d’arco, maitake, shitake, and reishi mushrooms, Siberian Ginseng, astragalus, and other natural products such as caprylic acid, citrus seed extract, and shark cartilage.
In 1972, a 78-year-old Peruvian plantation owner named Don Luis was sent home by his doctor to die after being diagnosed with lung cancer. His son went to an old Indian medicine woman, desperate for help for his father. She gave him tea made from Uncaria tomentosa. After drinking the tea daily for six months, his cancer had completely disappeared. He continued living a healthy, cancer-free life until he died of old age at the age of ninety. In 1989 and 1990, U.S. patents were issued to Austrian scientist Dr. Klause Keplinger. These patents explain how Dr. Keplinger isolated six oxindole alkaloids from the root of Cat’s Claw, and that four of these alkaloids have been proven to have a pronounced enhancement effect on phagocytosis, which is the ability of the white blood cells and macrophage to attack, engulf and digest harmful micro-organisms, foreign matter, and debris.
Among the four immuno-stimulating alkaloids exists an alkaloid known as rynchophylline. This alkaloid has been studied at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to those studies, this alkaloid contained in Cat’s Claw may be useful in preventing strokes and reducing the risk of heart attack by lowering blood pressure, increasing circulation, and inhibiting both the formation of plaque on the arterial walls and the formation of blood clots in the brain, heart, and arteries.
It has also been determined that Cat’s Claw has been effective in reducing the unpleasant side effects of both AZT and radiation therapy when used in the treatment in cancer.
Given the research conducted on these remarkable plants, the conclusion can be drawn that Venus’ Flytrap and Cat’s Claw both have tremendous potential as a preventative and as a treatment for many of today’s serious health concerns. Taken together, they enhance each other for ultimate benefit.

Curcumin - Cancer - Unnatural Polyketide Analogues Selectively Target Signaling Pathways in Human Breast Cancer Cells |
 |
|
Abstract:
Receptor tyrosine kinases are critical targets for the regulation of cell survival. Cancer patients with abnormal receptor tyrosine kinases (RTK) tend to have more aggressive disease with poor clinical outcomes. As a result, human epidermal growth factor receptor kinases, such as EGFR (HER1), HER2, and HER3, represent important therapeutic targets.
Several plant polyphenols including the type III polyketide synthase products (genistein, curcumin, resveratrol, and epigallocatechin-3-galate) possess chemopreventive activity, primarily as a result of RTK inhibition. However, only a small fraction of the polyphenolic structural universe has been evaluated. Along these lines, we have developed an in vitro route to the synthesis and subsequent screening of unnatural polyketide analogues with N-acetylcysteamine (SNAc) starter substrates and malonyl-coenzyme A (CoA) and methylmalonyl-CoA as extender substrates.
Results:
The resulting polyketide analogues possessed a similar structural polyketide backbone (aromatic-2-pyrone) with variable side chains. Screening chalcone synthase (CHS) reaction products against BT-474 cells resulted in identification of several trifluoromethylcinnamoyl-based polyketides that showed strong suppression of the HER2-associated PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, yet did not inhibit the growth of nontransformed MCF-10A breast cells (IC(50)>100 microM).
Specifically, 4-trifluoromethylcinnamoyl pyrone (compound 2 e) was highly potent (IC(50)<200 nM) among the test compounds toward proliferation of several breast cancer cell lines. This breadth of activity likely stems from the ability of compound 2 e to inhibit the phosphorylation of HER1, HER2, and HER3.
Conclusion:
Therefore, these polyketide analogues might prove to be useful drug candidates for potential breast cancer therapy.

Ecklovia Cava Extract - Super Antioxidant & Beyond |
| |
|
Ecklonia Cava Extract: Polyphenol / Phlorotannin Derived from Brown Algae
Ecklonia Cava Extract (ECE) is a standardized natural complex of unique marine molecules that originate from a specific species of brown algae (Ecklonia cava). ECE represents a unique category of polyphenols often called phlorotannins. Their unique polyphenolic structure endows them with biological activities that are not found in land-based plants.
ECE naturally occurs as high-molecular weight tannin (Mw> 2,000 Dalton) and low-molecular weight tannin (Mw=400-1000 Dalton). ECE can be classified into four types depending on the ratio of high molecular weight and low molecular weight tannins. Various physiological activities of ECE have been evaluated in vitro, in vivo and clinically as individual compounds (ECE1-ECE14) and complex forms (ECE, Type I-IV).
Millions on Research
Dr. Haengwoo Lee and his team of M.D.’s and Ph.D.’s have spent over thirty million dollars on research, from in vitro to animal and human studies. Much of the work was done in Korea, and some at the University of Washington. ECE has been found to be an impressive therapeutic agent in a wide array of clinical applications.
SUPER ANTIOXIDANT
The power of an antioxidant is determined by its structure, which is made up of rings. These rings capture stray electrons from free radicals. Most flavonoids generally have three interconnected rings. ECE has up to eight interconnected rings, making its free-radical scavenging ability 10-100 times more powerful than other polyphenols. It is substantially more powerful than green tea catechins, which only have four rings.
Multiple Antioxidant Profiles of ECE
ECE’s antioxidant activities against various reactive oxygen species have been confirmed to be highly potent in physiologically relevant concentrations. The effective dose of ECE for free radical scavenging is in the 10-20 µg/mL range which belongs to most potent families of natural antioxidants. ECE itself and its individual compounds have demonstrated potent reducing power and radical scavenging activities against DPPH radical, oxidized LDL and peroxynitrite.*
Much Longer Half-Life
ECE is a unique polyphenol in that it has a very long half-life in the body. This is because ECE is a marine-based polyphenol which is 40% fat-soluble. Virtually all other polyphenols are derived from land-based plants and are water-soluble. The half-life of ECE is up to 12 hours, compared to 30 minutes for water-soluble, land-based polyphenols. ECE has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
The Research of Martin Pall, Ph.D.
Peroxynitrite is the most notorious of the free radicals incriminated by Martin Pall, Ph.D.'s groundbreaking research on multiple chemical sensitivity, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, post traumatic stress disorder, Gulf War syndrome, and fourteen other conditions. Peroxynitrite plays a main role in Dr. Pall’s mechanism, along with NF-kappaB and other inflammatory mediators. ECE also reduces tissue specific NF-kappaB.
*Peroxynitrate is a central reactive oxidant, which appears to play a major role in many disease processes.

Garlic |
| |
|
Louis Pasteur confirmed the antibacterial action of garlic in 1858. Human population studies show that eating garlic regularly reduces the risk of oesophageal, stomach, and colon cancer. This is partly due to its ability to reduce the formation of carcinogenic compounds. Animal and test tube studies also show that garlic and its sulphur compounds inhibit the growth of different types of cancer, especially breast and skin tumours.
Garlic is mentioned in the Bible and the Talmud. Hippocrates, Galen, Pliny the Elder, and Dioscorides all mention the use of garlic for many conditions, including parasites, respiratory problems poor digestion, and low energy. Its use in China was first mentioned in A.D. 510.

Marijuana - How THC and Medical Marijuana can Kill Cancer |
| |
|
First identified in the early 90s, the receptors that combine with cannabis were found to not only exist in the brain, but in many other organs as well. And, cancer cells also have these receptors.
Researchers at the Complutense University School of Biology in Spain decided to look into a possible link they found that active cannabinoids targeted specific receptors on cancer cells. And, the receptors that were targeted led to two deadly messages getting sent to the cells:
- THC and active cannabinoids potentially affected the blood flow to tumors, effectively starving them of nutrients and making them lifeless masses of human tissue,
- Some evidence showed active cannabinoids made cancer cells cannibalize others, effectively shrinking the tumors
Dr. Donald Abrams, an oncology and clinical medicine professor at the University of California, San Francisco, agrees with the potential. He says active cannabinoids have the potential for anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and even anti-cancer applications. If Nagarkitti’s lab experiments are any indication, the potential for active cannabinoids may soon be unlocked. |

Medicago Scutellata - Effects of Medicago Scutellata in Human Breast and Cervical Cancer Cells |
| |
|
Abstract: Snail medic (Medicago scutellata L.) seeds exhibit a significantly higher content of a trypsin inhibitor than other Medicago species. This inhibitor belongs to the Bowman-Birk family of serine protease inhibitors (BBI) and exhibits a good sequence homology with the BBI from soybean, while presenting some differences. It has been suggested that BBIs have antitumoral and radio-protective activity.
Methods: In order to assess whether the inhibitor from Medicago scutellata (MsTI) seeds show similar properties to those of BBI from soybean with respect to potentiation of cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity, we evaluated the effects of MsTI on cisplatin-induced cell killing in MCF7 human breast carcinoma cells and HeLa human cervical carcinoma cells.
Results: The 24-hour treatment of MsTI in the cell culture medium decreased the clonogenic survival of MCF7 and HeLa cells in a dose-dependent manner and enhanced cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity. The presence of MsTI during the entire incubation period reduced the D37 of cisplatin by 40% in both the cell lines.
Conclusion: Medicago Scutellata (MsTI) could be an useful agent for the potentiation of cisplatin-mediated cancer treatment.

Metabolic Therapy - Vitamin B-17 - As a Preventative |
| ***** |
|
Vitamin B-17 is one of the main sources of food in cultures such as the Eskimos, the Hunzas, the Abkasians and many more.
Did you know that within these tribes there has never been a reported case of cancer?
According to Dr. Krebs, we need a minimum of 100 mg of vitamin B-17 (the equivalent of aboutseven apricots seeds) too nearly guarantee a cancer free life. Foods that contain vitamin B-17 are as follows:
* KERNELS OR SEEDS OF FRUIT: The highest concentration of vitamin B-17 to be found in nature, aside from bitter almonds. Apple, apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach, pear, plum, prune.
* BEANS: broad (Vicia faba), burma, chickpeas, lentils (sprouted), lima, mung (sprouted), Rangoon, scarlet runner.
* NUTS: Bitter almond, macadamia, cashew.
* BERRIES: Almost all wild berries. Blackberry, chokeberry, Christmas berry, cranberry, elderberry, raspberry, strawberry.
* SEEDS: Chia, flax, sesame.
* GRASSES: Acacia, alfalfa (sprouted), aquatic, Johnson, milkweed, Sudan, minus, wheat grass, whitedover.
* GRAINS: oat groats, barley, brown rice, buckwheat groats, chia, flax, millet, rye, vetch, wheat berries.
* MISCELLANEOUS: bamboo shoots, fuschia plant, sorghum, wild hydrangea, yew tree (needles, freshleaves).
Two rules of thumb: According to Dr. Krebs, the basic concept is that sufficient daily B-17 may beobtained by following either of two suggestions:
First - eating all the B-17-containing fruits whole (seeds included), but not eating more of the seeds bythemselves than you would be eating if you ate them in the whole fruit. Example: if you eat three apples aday, the seeds in the three apples are sufficient B-17. You would not eat a pound of apple seeds.
Second - one peach or apricot kernel per 10 lbs of body weight is believed to be more than sufficient as anormal safeguard in cancer prevention, although precise numbers may vary from person to person inaccordance with individual metabolism and dietary habits.
A 170-lb man, for example, might consume 17apricot or peach kernels per day and receive a biologically reasonable amount of Vitamin B-17. And two important notes: Certainly, you can consume too much of anything. Too many kernels or seeds, for example, can be expected to produce unpleasant side effects. These natural foods should beconsumed in biologically rational amounts (no more than 30 to 35 kernels per day).
High concentrations of B-17 are obtained by eating the natural foods in their raw or sprouting stage. This does not mean that moderate cooking and other tampering will destroy the B-17 content. Foods cooked at a temperature sufficient for a Chinese dinner, for example, will not lose their B-17 content.

Mushroom - ABM Mushroom - (Agaricus Blazei Murill) - Brazil |
| |
|
In the seventies, two researchers from Penn State visited the Sao Paulo, Brazil area and discovered the local natives to be extremely healthy with a very low rate of disease. The longevity rate was disproportionately high with people living well over 100. Their secret? It was a simple mushroom, they told the researchers, the ABM mushroom (Agaricus Blazei Murill).
Subsequent studies over the next 25 years have shown the ABM to stimulate the immune system and promote natural mechanisms to battle infectious disease and cancers. ABM stimulates lymphocyte T-cell and Helper T-cell production. The polysaccharide contained in ABM stimulates production of interferon and interleukin that indirectly function to destroy and prevent the proliferation of cancer cells. Additionally, ABM turned out to be a very powerful antiviral agent preventing viruses from entering tissues.
Normally, the polysaccharides found in fungus only affect solid cancers, however the polysaccharide in ABM is effective against Ehrich's ascites carcinoma, sigmoid colonic cancer, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and liver cancer as well as against solid cancers.
In Japan, ABM, in an injectable form, was found to eliminate all cancerous tumors in 90% of the experimental mice. Additionally, when the mice were fed ABM as a preventative and then injected with a very powerful cancer causing agent (Sarcoma 180), 99.4% of them showed no tumor growth. Conventional medicine has no preventive this powerful.
The studies in Japan showed ABM to be 80% more effective than the world's number one cancer drug, PSK. It contains much higher levels of beta glucans than the other medicinal mushrooms (Maitake, Shiitake, and Reishi) and stimulates NK (Natural Killer) cell activity.
It should be noted that the beta-glucans in these mushrooms work best when taken with vitamin C.
The studies in Japan were so successful that today Japan is now buying over 90% of the available ABM from Brazil.
* A special note: Japan's chief chemotherapy for cancer comes from a mushroom and is nontoxic. Japan employs chemotherapeutic drugs that are toxic only after trying the nontoxic therapies first. At the time of this writing, according to the World Health Organization's statistics, Japan stands first in overall longevity while the US stands at 24th.

Mushroom - ABM Mushroom - (Agaricus Blazei Murill) - Brazil |
| |
|
Here is what Mitobi publishes about the ABM mushroom:
In the 1970's researchers noticed that an unusual percentage of people in a small town in Brazil (Piedate, in Sao Paulo) had a very low rate of a number of serious adult diseases. The common factor in these people's diets was the ABM (Agaricus Blazei Murill) mushroom known to the locals as 'Cogumelo de Deus' or 'Mushroom of God'.
Researchers have isolated large amounts of polysaccharides in this mushroom which appear to significantly boost the immune system. Polysaccharides are made up of individual sugar molecules chained together to form larger sugars. The polysaccharides appear to activate a type of white blood cell known as a macrophage which filters the blood by destroying viruses, bacteria, and perhaps even cancer cells. Shiitake, Maitake and Reishi also contain these polysaccharides.
ABM is also known as Himematsutake and can be used in your cooking the same way as other mushrooms are. Daily dosage for normal body maintenance and prevention is about 6 grams (about ¼ of a dry mushroom) or 40 grams (aprox. 2 mushrooms) for serious illness. Tea is also a popular way of taking the mushroom. Use about 1 mushroom per liter (1 quart) and boil it for an hour. Drink a cup a day, warm or cold. Take vitamin C in conjunction with your medicinal mushrooms to assist in the absorption of the beneficial properties of the mushroom.

Resveratrol - Have Harvard Scientists Discovered the Fountain of Youth? - U.S. Harvard University Study, USA |
| |
|
The resveratrol-fed mice ended up living up to 15% longer than normal. In human terms, it's like adding another 11 years to your life!
Harvard researchers decided to put overweight resveratrol mice through endurance tests against normal, thin mice. Guess who performed better? The overweight mice had twice the stamina and agility as the thin mice! Now that's incredible.
In another study, done by the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology, researchers put mice on treadmills and measured how far they'd run before collapsing. The average mouse was able to run for 1 kilometer. But mice fed resveratrol were able to run 2 kilometers!
So not only does resveratrol help you live longer, it also gives you more energy to enjoy it!

Resveratrol - Cancer - Polyketide Analogues Selectively Target Signaling Pathways in Human Breast Cancer Cells |
 |
|

Revenol - Cascading Revenol |
 |
|
Antioxidants such as Vitamin C neutralise the damage caused by these free radicals. The problem is, after having entered the body, most antioxidant molecular structures will grab one free radical and then change into an inert state, ceasing to be of further scavenging value.
The additional problem is that even when an antioxidant neutralises a free radical, the process creates an off-shoot free radical that is slightly different and less potent in variety, which in turn create sanother, and so on.
Typical antioxidants have no ability to address this free radical cascading effect.
However Cascading Revenol’s technologically advanced formulation actually regenerates these scavenging molecules so that they can neutralise multiple free radicals. So, instead of only one free radical being destroyed per antioxidant molecule, each molecule is able to change structure and repeat the process again and again.
Thus the value of each individual antioxidant molecule increases exponentially.Cascading Revenol’s unique action is devastating to the free radical onslaught that damages cancer sufferers. This product can be an essential component in any B17 Metabolic Therapy treatment. |

Salacia Oblonga Root - 01 - Diabetes |

Salacia oblonga root improves postprandial hyperlipidemia and hepatic steatosis in Zucker diabetic fatty rats
Abstract: Salacia oblonga (SO) root is an Ayurvedic medicine with anti-diabetic and anti-obese properties. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-alpha, a nuclear receptor, plays an important role in maintaining the homeostasis of lipid metabolism.
Here, we demonstrate that chronic oral administration of the water extract from the root of SO to Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats, a genetic model of type 2 diabetes and obesity, lowered plasma triglyceride and total cholesterol (TC) levels, increased plasma high-density lipoprotein levels and reduced the liver contents of triglyceride, non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) and the ratio of fatty droplets to total tissue.
By contrast, the extract had no effect on plasma triglyceride and TC levels in fasted ZDF rats. After olive oil administration to ZDF the extract also inhibited the increase in plasma triglyceride levels.
Results: These results suggest that SO extract improves postprandial hyperlipidemia and hepatic steatosis in ZDF rats. Additionally, SO treatment enhanced hepatic expression of PPAR-alpha mRNA and protein, and carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1 and acyl-CoA oxidase mRNAs in ZDF rats. In vitro, SO extract and its main component mangiferin activated PPAR-alpha luciferase activity in human embryonic kidney 293 cells and lipoprotein lipase mRNA expression and enzyme activity in THP-1 differentiated macrophages; these effects were completely suppressed by a selective PPAR-alpha antagonist MK-886.
Conclusion: The findings from both in vivo and in vitro suggest that SO extract functions as a PPAR-alpha activator, providing a potential mechanism for improvement of postprandial hyperlipidemia and hepatic steatosis in diabetes and obesity.

Salacia Oblonga Root - 02 - Immune Stimulatory Function |
| |
|
Biochemical investigation and gene expression analysis of the immunostimulatory functions of an edible Salacia extract
Abstract: Roots and bark from plants belonging to genus Salacia of the family Hippocrateaceae (Salacia reticulata, Salacia oblonga, etc.) have been used for traditional Ayurvedic medicine, particularly for the treatment of diabetes. In our study, we evaluated the gene expression profiles in the small intestinal epithelium of rats that were given a Salacia plant extract to gain insight into its effects on the small intestine.
In detail, DNA microarray analysis was performed to evaluate the gene expression profiles in the rat ileal epithelium. The intestinal bacterial flora was also studied using T-RFLP (Nagashima method) in these rats.
Conclusion: Expressions of many immune-related genes, especially Th1-related genes associated with cell-mediated immunity, were found to increase in the small intestinal epithelium and the intestinal bacterial flora became similar to those in the case with Salacia plant extract administration. Our study thus revealed that Salacia plant extract exerts bioregulatory functions by boosting intestinal immunity.

Ayurvedic Medicine - Salacia oblonga Attenuates Diabetic Renal Fibrosis: Suppression of Angiotensin II/AT1 Signaling.
Abstract: In human diabetic nephropathy, the extent of tubulointerstitial fibrosis is the leading cause of end-stage renal disease; fibrosis is closely correlated with renal dysfunction. Although a wide array of medicinal plants play a role in the prevention and treatment of diabetes, there are few reports of the application of herbal medicines in amelioration of renal fibrosis, or the underlying mechanisms by which such benefits are mediated. The efficacy of the Ayurvedic antidiabetic medicine Salacia oblonga (SO) root on rat renal fibrosis was investigated.
Results: An aqueous extract from SO (100 mg/kg, p.o., 6 weeks) diminished renal glomerulosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis in Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats, as revealed by van Giesen-staining. SO also reduced renal salt-soluble, acid-soluble and salt-insoluble collagen contents. These changes were accompanied by normalization of hypoalbuminemia and BUN.
Gene profiling revealed that the increase in transcripts encoding the glomerulosclerotic mediators collagen I, collagen IV, fibronectin, angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1), transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1, plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1 observed in ZDF rat kidney was suppressed by SO.
In rat-derived mesangial cells, similar to the effect of the AT1 antagonist telmisartan, SO and its major component mangiferin suppressed the stimulatory effect of angiotensin II on proliferation and increased mRNA expression and/or activities of collagen I, collagen IV, fibronectin, AT1, TGF-β1 and PAI-1.
Conclusion: Considered together the present findings demonstrate that SO attenuates diabetic renal fibrosis, at least in part by suppressing anigiotensin II/AT1 signaling. Further, it now emerges that mangiferin is an effective antifibrogenic agent.

There are a lot of journals and articles talking about soursop cancer cure. Soursop is known to prevent and also effective for treating some types of cancer. The parts of soursop that are useful for cancer drugs are the stem, leaves, and fruit. The fruit can be eaten straightly, made into juice, or processed into other food ingredients. Soursop leaves can be boiled and used as drinking water or tea.
According to research, soursop contains many beneficial compounds that may be the body’s antioxidant. What makes this fruit a soursop cancer cure is the way it treats the cancer cells. The experts argued that the soursop only kills cells that grow abnormally. In patients with cancer, soursop only kills specific cells such as free radicals which are cancer cells without killing healthy cells. Soursop fruit has been researched and developed as a soursop cancer cure materials, particularly prostate cancer, pancreatic, and lung cancer. A study published by a medical journal even mentioned that soursop is proved more effective than chemotherapy. Soursop will not cause cancer patients to lose hair or have a queasy feeling in his stomach as if they were getting chemotherapy. In addition of its effectiveness in by attacking and killing cancer cells, soursop cancer cure can also protect the immune systems of the poor and prevent infection.
There are now even some soursop cancer cure products in the market. The products are in form of soursop juice, soursop pills, or soursop tea. You can find out the information of where to get these products on the internet. The products are usually available in the drugstores or in some medical service institutes. You can find the information of how to consume it on the information paper. The information of the ingredients or the dose is usually attached on the packages.
You can consume soursop by eating the flesh or having it made into other food products. Making it into juice is the most favorite way. You can blend it with milk or honey. If you want to, you can even add some cube ice on your blend to make it cool. You can also make it into ice cream. If you are a bread lover, you can make it into jam and eat it with bread. However, if you still doubt the benefits of soursop cancer cure and how to consume it, you can consult directly with your doctor.

Stevia - Benefits - Toxic or Tasty - The Real Issues in the Stevia Battles? |
| |
|
Stevia has undergone numerous toxicity tests. None of these tests have shown any harmful effects. Few substances can make this claim.Centuries of continuous use by natives of South America ... and added to a number of food products in Japan since the mid 1970. In addition, thousands of tons of stevia extracts have been consumed over the last 20 years in many countries with no harmful effects reported.
Stevia has the potential to become a popular non-caloric sweetener.
Apparently, because someone (FDA won't say who, but it's a big company) doesn't want it on the market, and convinced FDA to ban it. the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 has forced FDA to allow it in dietary supplements. The agency says it's still illegal to use it as a food ingredient, placing them in the rather stupid position of saying it's safe if labeled as a supplement, but not when sold in or as a food. |

Stevia - Heritability for Yield, Leaf:Stem Ratio and Stevioside Content from a Landrace Cultivar of Stevia Rebaudiana |
| |
|
Bertoni is a herbaceous perennial native to the highlands of Paraguay. A number of compounds are present in the leaf tissue that have a potential food use as low calorie sweeteners. The purpose of this work was to determine if sufficient genetic variability was present in locally available stevia germplasm to allow selection of lines with agronomic and chemical properties suitable to local production conditions.
Yield, leaf:stem ratio and stevioside concentration were all found to be highly heritable. Yield levels were comparable to other stevia producing areas. Stevioside concentration was higher, probably as a result of production under long days. These initial results also show that Stevia has good potential for production in southwestern Ontario. |

Tea - Diabetes - Yerba Mate - Anti-Obesity and Anti-Diabetic Effects of Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) - Clinical Study |
| |
|
This study found that Yerba Mate extract has potent anti-obesity activityin vivo. Additionally, we observed that Yerba Mate treatment has a modulatory effect on glucose levels related to obesity.
The data presented in this study suggest that Yerba Mate extract may act synergistically to suppress body weight gain and visceral fat accumulation and to decrease the serum levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. Adipose tissue is an endocrine organ, which has a fundamental role in metabolism and homeostasis regulation.
The production and secretion of an excess or insufficient amount of adipokines greatly influence insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis and may provide a molecular link between increased adiposity and the development of diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndromes, and cardiovascular diseases. In the present study, the level of leptin in serum was directly affected by a high-fat diet. Additionally, treatment with Yerba Mate extract recovered the concentration of leptin. |

Tithonia - Anti-Diabetic Effect of Nitobegiku, the Herb Tithonia Diversifolia, in KK-Ay-Diabetic Mice |
| |
|
Abstract: Nitobegiku (the herb of Tithonia diversifolia (HEMSL) A. GRAY) has been used as a medicinal plant for diabetes. The antidiabetic effect of an 80% ethanol extract of Nitobegiku (Td) was investigated in KK-Ay-mice, an animal model of type 2 diabetes.
Results: Td (500 mg/kg body weight) reduced the blood glucose of KK-Ay mice 7 h after a single oral dose. No change in blood glucose in Td-treated normal mice (ddY) was seen. Td (500 mg/kg) reduced blood glucose in KK-Ay mice 3 weeks after a single oral dose and also significantly lowered plasma insulin in KK-Ay mice under similar conditions. Td-treated KK-Ay mouse blood glucose was significantly decreased in an insulin tolerance test.
Conclusion: These results support the hypothesis that Td improves glucose metabolism by reducing insulin resistance. Therefore, Nitobegiku may be useful for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Venus Flytrap - Insect Eating Plant Has Cured Cancer, Lyme Disease, AIDS, Chronic Fatigue, Malaria & Many Other Diseases |
 |
|
In the 1970s, German physician Helmut Keller was looking for alternatives to the toxic chemicals produced by the drug companies. He also marveled at Venus’s-flytrap and its ability to digest protein (insects) without harming itself and without a digestive system.
Dr. Keller believes the key compounds are droserone (D), plumbagin (P), and hydroplumbagin, also found in other carnivorous plants. These remarkable and hard-to- make compounds are powerful oxidation catalysts, not dissimilar to the famous Koch catalysts.
In the 1930s, Dr. William F. Koch was using catalysts to speed oxidation in cells. He cured many dreaded diseases. His successes created political problems forcing him to emigrate to Brazil to continue his work. D and P modulate the immune system.
That is, they lift a weakened immune system, or stimulate a proper balance of activation and suppression. Too little of the former can lead to cancer and infection. Too little of the latter can lead to “autoimmune” disease. |

Venus Flytrap - Carnivora Extract - Immune Boosting Aids, Cancer, HIV Treatment |
 |
|
He traveled to Germany for treatment, and returned four months later, completely free of AIDS, his blood showing no signs of the HIV-1 antigen after multiple tests.

Venus Flytrap - Carnivora Extract - Immune Boosting Aids, Cancer, HIV Treatment - Germany |
 |
|

Wormwood - Herb - Artemisinin Extract |
| |
|
